Ullesthorpe WI Report.

June was a very entertaining and enjoyable meeting.

We welcomed Barry Watson, a Raconteur and Musician to our meeting.

Barry has spent many years organising barge Hotel holidays.

With his wife and friends, over a number of years, he provided weeks’ holidays on a Narrow Boat.

This included full board accommodation with ensuite facilities and entertainment.

He had an endless supply of anecdotes about the agonies and delights of his adventures.

There were stories of his guests and how he coped with the difficult task involved in a restricted place.

He had songs to sing, and we needed very little encouragement to join in. A very cheerful chap.

We finished the afternoon looking at all the Jubilee memorabilia brought in by members.

We were thanked by the Staff and children of Ullesthorpe School for our help making bunting with the children. They drew their own ideas of the Queen’s celebration on material and members put them together and placed them around the school. Something to keep.
