The Ullesthorpe W.I. held their July meeting on Zoom again, hopefully for the last time!, when Jane Isaac gave an interesting talk about her life as a novelist. Jane writes crime and psychological thriller novels and is based in Northamptonshire. ‘The Lies Within’ focuses around Market Harborough. As a child she had always wanted to be a writer, and as she said everyone has got a novel in them. Jane and her husband, who worked as a detective had a year out to travel the world. She took her diary with her and wrote every day of her experiences travelling the world, this inspired her to try and write a book.
She went on a Sunday Times writing course, which she enjoyed. Jane then decided to write her first fiction book in 2010 which took 18 months to write. This was accepted by a publisher, and her first book was published in the USA and was also nominated for an award.
She has now had 12 novels published and her next book will be published next year.
We will be resuming our meetings at the Ullesthorpe Village Hall on Thursday the 12th August, when our speaker will be talking about ‘Canine Partners. In July we are having an afternoon tea in the garden of one of our members. New members are welcome telephone (01455 202499)
