Ullesthorpe WI were the hosts for the Wycliffe Group meeting this month.
The speaker was Spencer Craven from Claybrooke Mill . He gave an excellent talk on the history of the Mill from Roman times until now. He told us about the different changes and problems encountered with the flow of water to ensure the Mill runs and making sure the flours meet the new dietary requirements.
As well as selling flour, flour mixes ,oats and muesli, Spencer, encouraged by his eco friendly children, has started an eco filling station where you can refill all your household cleaning liquids.
Well worth a visit.
The evening finished with a chilli supper having the added bonus of various breads made by our members using Claybrooke flour.
Ullesthorpe also won the “flour” arrangement pictured below.
